I write it because I can forget it.
We faced this problem for Documentum 7.0. When you trying to open file selecting
Open (Read Only) in context menu, it is open just empty page. No errors, no warning, nothing in log files. Just annoying empty page ...
I don't remember how I discover the problem, but the problem is in UCF settings. For more information about this problem you could try to see this Q/A:
What I did is:
- Stop your repository. Clean dmcl cache, go
$DOCUMENUM_HOME/cache/and delete everything inside.
- Stop your Documentum Adminsitrator. Go to tomcat where
dais deployed, also clean
tempand documentum caches.
tomcat/webapps/da/wdk/contentXfer, and open
Here is how it look like before changes. Here is after changes.
I added this, under
<platform os="windows" arch="all"><defaults><configuration>
<option name="java.startup.options"> <value>-Djava.net.preferIPv6Addresses=false</value> </option> <option name="java.startup.options"> <value>-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true</value> </option> <option name="java.startup.options"> <value>-Djava.net.preferIPv4Addresses=true</value> </option> <option name="java.startup.options"> <value>-Djava.net.preferIPv6Stack=false</value> </option>
and also I changed version in this line:
<app id="shared" version="7.0.0000.0507" compatibilityVersion="5.3.0"/>to
<app id="shared" version="7.0.0000.0507a" compatibilityVersion="5.3.0"/>. You can add here random letter or number, we need force update this config on all clients machines.
Now open java Control Panel
$JAVA_HOME/bin/ControlPanel, and clean all under
Temporary Internet Files -> Settings... -> Delete Files...
Now go your Documentum Administrator webpage, and try. Also you could configure in which application to open different file types. Go to
tools -> Preferences -> Formats.
